Humble
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves…. then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
Humble – bend the knee; bring down low; bring into subjection; subdue – Strongs Concordance
Praying that I will be willing to get down low at my Savior’s feet and be in subjection to God. Praying that He will bring revival in my heart.
Praying for revival in the heart of all Christians in America.
Pray
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall… pray, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
May God raise up many prayer warriors for America. For, if His people are humble before Him, and pray to Him, He will hear their prayer. He will forgive their sin, and He will answer their prayer. I Timothy 2:8 says, “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
Seek My Face
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall… seek my face… then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
Seek – beseech, desire, request -- Strong’s Concordance
Praying today that I and all Christians in America will seek God’s face, that we will bend all our energies toward Him, and that we would make a ceaseless effort to be in His presence.
Turn from Their Wicked Ways
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall… turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (II Chronicles 7:14)
This is God’s call to repentance. It is a call for each of us to examine our lives individually. What wicked way may be found in my heart? My wickedness may not be evident to me on the surface, but the Bible says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)
The Bible tells me who can know my heart. It says, “I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:10)
If I ask, God will show me where sin is in my heart, then I can confess it to Him, and He will give me strength to turn from it. “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23,24)
