If you build your life on the Lord Jesus Christ, you will have spiritual success. If you build your life on the pleasures of this world, you may have a good time for a while; but in the end, you will have emptiness and frustration. Consider these verses from Holy Scripture.
“A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)
“O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23)
“23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. 24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.” (Psalm 37:23,24)
“Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.” (Psalm 17:5)
“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” (Psalm 119:133)
“For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.” (Psalm 31:3)
“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.” (Psalm 73:24)
“5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day… 9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.” (Psalm 25:5,9)
“3O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. 4Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.” (Psalm 43:3,4)
We need God’s road map to guide our steps, and His directions are found in His word. God will lead us into His way and will direct our steps, and this will bring us to the place of joy and praise. Therefore, let us fill our hearts with His word so that He can fill us with truth and light, and we can be filled with rejoicing and praise.
