~George Müller
I am afraid that we Christians today make the same mistake. We see the ills of society and try to change society to make things better, when the real need for change is in our own hearts. The problems of a society are not the “fault” of the unsaved but of the believers who have failed to reach them. Perhaps we have failed to reach them because our focus has been to “convert the world” rather than to hasten God’s kingdom. God does desire that all the world hear the gospel and that every man may be saved. We should be working toward fulfilling God’s desire, but our motive should not be to make society better. Rather, it should be to advance God’s kingdom.
"After this manner pray ye… Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:9,10,33)
