This is the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence. Our courageous Forefathers ended this document with these words: “And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” And, indeed, these men did give everything to preserve to their posterity the freedoms we enjoy today.
How far we have come, dreadfully far - down hill, down stream - down, down, down until we are nearly stuck in the mire. One of the latest news headlines that caught my eye on opening up the internet today was one by AP news that stated that the Democrats had gotten their 60 votes necessary to pass health care legislation. This was done in spite of approximately 1 million protesters who marched on Washington DC on September 12 and the many more who did so on Bill of Rights Day, December 15.
President Obama said, “’Now - for the first time - there is a clear majority in the Senate that's willing to stand up to the insurance lobby and embrace lasting health insurance reforms that have eluded us for generations.’”
But Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky viewed it much differently - “’This bill is a legislative train wreck of historic proportions,’ Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky said. He said it includes cuts to Medicare, home health care and hospices as well as ‘massive tax increases’ at a time of double-digit unemployment.”

At http://swampfoxfiles.blogspot.com/ , one can read that “The well-respected Mayo Clinic has said "No" to Obama care, as well as millions of other red-blooded Americans. In a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll, 83 percent of Americans are very satisfied or somewhat satisfied with the quality of their health care, and 81 percent are similarly satisfied with their health insurance.”
According to a recent survey from HCD research, more doctors than patients opposed the health care plan and were uneasy about it. Many doctors are not happy about this legislation. You can learn more about this and other survey results at http://www.mediacurves.com/
The passage of this legislation has caused anger and disappointment to many, and rightly so. It represents leadership who are seeking to destroy our nation, despise our constitution, and take away the freedoms of the American people. Our forefathers put safeguards and checks and balances in place in this country’s government for a reason. If leadership fails to be controlled by these safeguards and checks and balances and to respect the will of the people and do that which is right, it is the responsibility of the American people to remove these leaders from their positions. This can be done through the voting system and possibly through other avenues as well.
Our Forefathers placed upon the shoulders of the American people the responsibility to keep our Republic. Consider these words from the Declaration of Independence - “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” When our leaders abuse their powers and take to themselves other powers to which they have no right, and oppress the people, the American people have the right and the duty to throw off these leaders and to provide new ones which will love their country and lead and serve the people in a right manner.
Many people do not understand why socialized health care is such a threat. If you have questions and would like to understand more about it, listen to what Ronald Reagan said about socialized medicine years ago. This was in 1961, when he was not yet President of the United States. Check it out here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRdLpem-AAs&feature=player_embedded
And this is only one example of the abuses our elected leaders have committed against the American public. There have been agreements made to put undue oppressive burdens upon the American people in the name of preventing disaster from “climate change.” You can read more about that here - http://www.americansforprosperity.org/121809-afp-statement-copenhagens-hollow-deal
Oppressive regulatory financial reform legislation is also being pushed through the Congress in the name of “Wall Street Reform.”
There is also an attempt being made to regulate communications under a plan called the “National Broadband Plan.” “The Obama FCC continues to push for sweeping new regulations of the Internet without any authority from Congress and behind closed doors. Today's panel is just another example of how the FCC is attempting to circumvent the legislative process to implement their so called network neutrality regulations. These proposed regulations would make the federal government the ultimate gatekeeper of information on the Internet.” Read more here - http://www.americansforprosperity.org/121509-fcc-hold-open-workshop-so-called-net-neutrality-rules-today
Previously this year, an attempt was made to pass a bill that would have given President Obama the power to shut off internet access to computers in the private sector in the case of a "cyber emergency,"
The list could go on and on. America, my heart grieves for you. And God heart grieves for you too, for they which lead thee cause thee to err and destroy the way of thy paths.
Update on December 24, 2009:
Another AP news article today told more about the final passage of this bill. It says in part, “WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Democrats passed a landmark health care bill in a climactic Christmas Eve vote that could define President Barack Obama's legacy and usher in near-universal medical coverage for the first time in the country's history.
‘We are now finally poised to deliver on the promise of real, meaningful health insurance reform that will bring additional security and stability to the American people,’ Obama said shortly after the Senate acted.”

According to one conservative group, there is very troubling language in the bill. This legislation provides for the setting aside of a large amount of funds for medical research to be done at a facility in the United States. No one knows where, which State, or what kind of research is to be done at that place. This is frightening, folks. America, Wake up!
