Is it really better for the environment to use no soil and less water for the plants? Recently we learned that the tomatoes sold by Lidl are grown in a special greenhouse that uses less soil and less water. That is supposed to be better for the environment.
Take a look at this video and see another method of farming that some say is farming for the future.
Here are some concerns just from a common sense standpoint.
1. "We try to listen to what the plants are saying to us." ??? That seems a little strange.
2. Plants absorb nutrients out of the soil. Where will the plants get sufficient nutrients without soil?
3. The plants are grown on reusable fabric made from recycled plastic. There is some evidence that chemicals that leach from plastic can cause cancer. Now we are growing things in recycled plastic?
4. Will the foods have to be genetically modified in order to sustain the rate of growth necessary for these to be a regular source of food?
5. Other concerns -- How much electric is used? Is the water pure? Is there proper air circulation? How is mold controlled?
From a Biblical standpoint -- this is just plain wrong. It is not better for the planet. God designed the ground for growing things. "11And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. 12And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good." (Genesis 1:11-13)
These people may think they are saving the planet, but they are really helping to destroy it. That is scary because Revelation 11:18 says, "And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged... and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."
Don't listen to the lies put forth by those who would change from God's methods and use man's instead, but rather listen to the word of God and understand the wonderful plan God had for the growth of plants and crops. God's way is always best.
