Here is the video.
Even if there were not a question about Trump's character, the more frightening thing lately is the almost-worship status which some give him, even some Christians. For example, here is a quote I saw on youtube, “Donald J. Trump is our last hope, he is the only person who is able to save America, and the western world as a whole form falling into the depths of despair due to globalist agenda and a crippling political agenda era.” ~John Patrick Acquaviva youtube channel.
Others have said that Trump is our only hope.
Another sentiment I’ve heard more than once is that Trump has been chosen by God to save America from destruction.
Some people look to Hillary Clinton because they think she will be more fair and that she will help women and black people. Others look to Trump because he can beat Hillary and because they think he can save our country from ISIS. Some prefer another candidate. There is nothing wrong with preferring one candidate over another. Each person in this country has a right to vote for whichever candidate they choose. That is OK as long as we are not looking to this candidate to save us from trouble.
The problem is that many people in this country are looking to the wrong savior to save America. They are trusting in a man (or woman) to save them. The problem is that the arm of a man is not strong to save. No matter how strong a man may be or how good his intentions are, he cannot save a nation. “8 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes. 10All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.” (Psalm 118:8-10) The Lord has more power against nations and enemies than the strongest men and the biggest armies. If we are trusting in a man as our last or only hope, I am afraid we are in big trouble. God may just let us find out what it is like to depend on a man for our nation’s help.
Our only hope for America right now is not Donald Trump or any other person. We Christians must look into our hearts. Judgment must begin in the house of God. And we must consider our ways.
Turn Again to the Lord
