In Isaiah chapter eleven, we learned about the wonderful time when Jesus will come and reign as the Messiah and set up His thousand year kingdom. Israel will return to her land and be restored. They will overcome their enemies and spoil them and God will make a way for them to cross over the sea on dry land. It will be a time of true justice and true peace.
When Israel comes back home and has true peace and her land is restored to her and she is also restored as a nation, it will be a day for great rejoicing. Isaiah chapter twelve tells about this wonderful time.
Israel will praise the Lord because His anger is turned away and He has comforted them. “And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.” (Isaiah 12:1)
Israel will praise the Lord because He is their strength and song and salvation. They will have no more cause to be afraid. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.” (verse two)
Israel will experience a time of great joy. “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” (verse three)
Israel will have a time of praise and exaltation of the Lord’s name. They will be filled with the praises of the Lord and will declare his doings among the people. “And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.” (verse four)
Israel will have a time of gladness and singing. “Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.” (verse five)
Israel will have a day of shouting and jubilation because of the greatness of the Lord. “Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.” (verse six)
There is a day coming for Israel, and what a great day that will be!
